Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits Attorney in Chicago, IL

Illinois Lawyer for Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a payroll tax-funded federal insurance program of the government managed by the Social Security Administration (SSA). If you have paid into the system and worked an average of five out of the last ten years and are medically disabled, you may qualify for this program. There are a few qualifications you must satisfy. For instance, your condition must prevent you from working for least twelve months.

If you have been out of work for at least a year or are expected to be out of work for at least a year, absolutely give our office a call and we will go over your situation in detail. It is never too early or too late to ask for help! Click the button below to fill out our simple free consultation form. Contact Pearson Disability Law, LLC at 312-999-0999. Managing attorney Jonathan L. Pearson provides comprehensive representation regarding the different Social Security Disability benefit types.

SSDI Qualification

SSA determines whether you qualify for SSDI based on four main criteria: age, education, medical condition, and prior work experience. If you meet all four criteria, you will then be found to be medically disabled. If you meet the financial criteria for SSDI as well, then SSA will award you SSDI benefits. In general, the more money that you have paid into Social Security during your lifetime the more money you will receive when you are found to be disabled. If you are over the age of 50, qualifying for SSDI may be somewhat easier, and the benefits you receive will be based on the Social Security taxes you have paid throughout your career. For more information about how much you will get paid each month if you win your claim, review your annual Social Security statement. Another advantage of qualifying for SSDI is that recipients are entitled to Medicare 24 months after receiving disability benefits.

An Experienced Social Security Disability Lawyer Can Help

No matter your personal situation, dealing with the government can be a real challenge, and a Social Security disability attorney can expedite the process of applying for Social Security Disability. The guidelines can be especially confusing and their forms are incomplete and misleading. Even if you can accurately and timely complete their requests, the Administration routinely loses or misplaces documents, leaving most claimants' records incomplete. With incomplete records it is little surprise that SSA denies nearly 70% of claimants off of their initial applications. Don't worry, you aren't alone. We want to help.
